The Rhode Island Interscholastic League High School Athletic Hall of Fame is dedicated to preserving the vibrant tradition of high school athletics in Rhode Island. The Hall of Fame seeks to highlight the past in order to promote a promising future for Rhode Island high school athletics. The recognition of past personalities and their significant contributions to our statewide organization serve to provide models for future generations to emulate. High School athletics provide a valuable laboratory in which the values of sportsmanship, honesty, dedication, teamwork, self-discipline, loyalty and cooperation are learned and practiced. An integral part of education, interscholastic athletics are the master teacher of values, and the teaching of value is essential to the education of our youth. Recognition began with the inaugural class of 2003. An impressive group of eleven significant individuals, in the history of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League, set the standard for the selection of future inductees. The list of inductees included administrators, coaches, an athlete, an official and a sportswriter. More than a decade later, the list of inspiring individuals has multiplied more than 16 times the first 11, all taking their place among this illustrious membership in high school sports.
